Next week, during his visit to Washington, D.C., British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will present a plan to U.S. President Donald Trump for the deployment of 30,000 European peacekeepers to Ukraine.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Telegraph.

It is expected that the head of the British government will provide detailed information to the U.S. president on how European military forces can ensure compliance with the ceasefire agreement.

At the same time, Starmer will urge Trump to keep American fighter jets and missiles on standby in Eastern Europe to respond with force if the Russian Federation (RF) decides to violate any potential ceasefire.

According to the Telegraph, the Anglo-French "force of calm" strategy was presented to other European leaders during an emergency meeting in Paris earlier this week.

"It was developed against the backdrop of concerns that the U.S. president might wash his hands of Ukraine and any ceasefire almost immediately after any agreement is reached," the publication states.

Under the plan, 30,000 military personnel from European countries will be deployed in Ukrainian cities, ports, and other critical infrastructure sites, such as nuclear power plants, away from the front line.

An unnamed official stated that instead of deploying significantly larger forces, the mission would involve "technical monitoring," which will include reconnaissance aircraft, surveillance, drones, and satellites.

Specifically, naval patrol ships will be sent to ensure the safety of shipping routes in the Black Sea.

Deployment of Troops to Ukraine

Yesterday, February 18, the Dutch parliament supported a resolution on the potential deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine. In particular, Sweden does not rule out sending peacekeepers either.

The head of Poland's Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, believes that countries bordering Russia should not send their peacekeepers.
