Trump announced the possibility of a trade deal with China.

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the possibility of entering into a new trade agreement with China. This indicates his readiness to avert a trade confrontation between Washington and Beijing.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Bloomberg.

"It's possible, it's possible," Trump told reporters when asked whether he would pursue a new deal with China.

The U.S. President did not specify the parameters of a potential agreement; however, Bloomberg notes that any deal will encounter significant hurdles, some of which were created by the President himself.

In particular, Trump has intensified pressure on China by imposing an additional 10% tariff on all imports from the country as punishment for what he described as unfair trade practices and the failure to stop the flow of fentanyl into the U.S.

Recall that in China, new economic measures against the U.S. have come into effect. This was the Chinese authorities' response to the tariff increases imposed by Donald Trump.

Previously, he had introduced additional 10% tariffs on goods from China, and in retaliation, the State Council of China revised tariffs on the import of minerals, agricultural machinery, as well as vehicles with engines larger than 2.5 liters.
