The SBU has detained the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who owns 4 BMWs, 3 apartments, land, and a private house.

The Security Service of Ukraine has reported the detention of the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who also serves as the deputy chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission and is responsible for assessing the fitness of military personnel for service. During the full-scale war, he allegedly accumulated over 1 million US dollars.

While the SBU has not disclosed the name of the detained individual, the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is Oleg Druzh.

The agency notes that the official acquired unjustified assets exceeding 1 million US dollars during the full-scale invasion, which he failed to declare. The assets were registered under the names of his wife, daughter, sons, and other unrelated individuals.

Between 2022 and 2024, the suspect acquired:

▪ a private house in the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region;

▪ 2 apartments in Kyiv;

▪ 1 apartment in Odesa;

▪ 2 plots of land in the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region;

▪ a BMW X7 2024 model;

▪ a BMW X7 2022 model;

▪ a BMW X5 2023 model;

▪ a BMW X3 2022 model;

and other property.

The SBU added that during the searches, 152,000 US dollars and 34,000 euros were also discovered.

Currently, a notice of suspicion is being prepared for the individual. The issue of choosing a preventive measure and imposing an arrest on the official's assets is being resolved.

The official faces a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
