The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has signed an order delaying the ban on the Chinese social media platform TikTok for 75 days. This was reported by Reuters.
The order mandates the Attorney General to refrain from enforcing the law, allowing the administration time to determine the appropriate course of action regarding TikTok.
The document also requires the Department of Justice to send letters to companies such as Apple, Google, and Oracle, stating that there has been no violation of the law and that these companies will not be held liable for any actions taken during the specified period.
Previously, the Supreme Court of the United States supported the law banning TikTok in the country.
As is known, TikTok ceased operations in the United States on January 18.
Later, Donald Trump announced that he would delay the TikTok ban, but emphasized that he wants the social platform to be at least partially owned by American investors.
On January 19, it became known that TikTok is starting to resume its operations in the United States.
