Cat Kellogg has a strategy to end the war, but Donald Trump will personally oversee the negotiations, according to media reports.
Трамп поручил Келлогу завершить конфликт за 100 дней и намерен лично курировать мирные переговоры по Украине, сообщает WSJ.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has tasked his special representative for Ukraine, Kurt Kellogg, with ending the war within a hundred days. At the same time, Trump intends to personally oversee the negotiations regarding Ukraine. This is reported by the publicationThe Wall Street Journal.

“Trump has instructed Kellogg to conclude the war in Ukraine within a hundred days. Virtually no one believes he can achieve this, especially the Russians. Rather, it is said that Kellogg's role as a special representative in Ukraine, which comes against the backdrop of a flurry of such appointments, is the first step towards peace negotiations that Trump intends to supervise himself,” the article states.

At the same time, according to the publication, reaching agreements with Vladimir Putin will be much more challenging than Trump promised during his campaign when he stated he would end the war before taking office.

Former colleagues of Kellogg suggest that his military experience could be crucial for the U.S. president as he weighs the implications of providing or withholding aid to Ukraine. However, he has never worked as a diplomat and is unlikely to be involved in actual negotiations with the Russian Federation, they add.

Previously, the new U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that ending the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine would become the official policy of the Donald Trump administration. According to him, the war needs to be concluded in such a way as to avoid its resurgence in 2-3 years.

And the Head of State, Vladimir Zelensky, during a meeting with representatives of the International Media Council declared that Ukraine will not agree to a compromise that would involve recognizing the occupied territories as part of the Russian Federation, even under pressure from all allies.
