During environmental protection activities in the Chernobyl Nature Reserve, the State Environmental Inspection of the Capital Region identified violations of environmental legislation amounting to over 1.58 million hryvnias.
Experts from the State Environmental Inspection of the Capital Region uncovered illegal logging of naturally growing trees and spontaneous felling of dead trees while conducting environmental protection activities in the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve.
The violations were detected within the territories of the Korogod, Dibrivsk, and Polissya environmental research divisions (PNDV).
These actions violated several articles of the Law of Ukraine "On the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine."
The damage caused by the violation of legislation concerning the nature reserve fund amounts to 1,581,574.40 UAH.
The inspection has submitted a report of the crime to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Kyiv Oblast for the inclusion of relevant information in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (URPI).
