According to the expert, Trump is unlikely to want to negotiate with Putin on his terms after the recent visit of Iranian President Pezeshkian to Moscow, where he signed a strategic partnership agreement with Russia that effectively duplicates the agreement with North Korea.
“As is well known, Trump, during his tenure as the 45th President of the United States, not only expressed skepticism but also opposed the agreement to lift sanctions against Iran in exchange for Iran halting its uranium enrichment and stopping the operation of its centrifuges. These concerns were indeed valid. It will be interesting to see how the Trump administration reacts to yet another rapprochement between Russia and Iran,” explains Alexander Musienko.
Interestingly, he recalls that Trump personally invited Xi Jinping to his inauguration, although the Chinese vice president will also be present, which is not bad, and the newly elected US president intends to visit Beijing within his first 100 days. According to the expert, all of this is an attempt to build bridges and connections, with a noticeable mutual interest, likely in terms of economics.
“It seems to me that Trump may try to establish certain ties with China and seek common ground. And it will be interesting to see what the stance towards Russia will be. The most advantageous approach would be to divide Russia into spheres of influence and interests, because using today’s Russia in its current state against China is clearly not serious. Therefore, I think there will be a search for agreements with China. But how will China respond? That is also a question,” reflects Alexander Musienko.
As reported by Zna.ua, Musienko stated that the French and British are considering a landing in Odessa.
Additionally, Zna.ua wrote about Sheitelman’s comments on Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine: “Fat, content, and shining”.
