"If patients do not take their medications on time, it means their condition worsens, leading to a higher likelihood of hospitalization. This is particularly true for conditions like strokes or heart attacks, as seen in cardiovascular diseases. For individuals with diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and many other ailments, the absence of medication increases the risk of disability, which robs them of the ability to live and work. Currently, Ukrainians are forced to cut back on basic expenses, such as food," said Valery Dubil, Deputy to Yulia Tymoshenko.

Yulia Tymoshenko, leader of the "Fatherland" party, has continued the investigation into the artificial monopolization of the pharmaceutical market that began weeks ago by establishing a parliamentary investigative commission aimed at reducing the unreasonably high prices of medications in pharmacies. The commission will investigate why Ukrainians, suffering from the war, must pay twice as much for medications compared to residents of European countries and will develop countermeasures.

“To make drug prices reasonable, we need to dismantle the pharmaceutical mafia of intermediaries that is exploiting Ukrainians,” believes the leader of "Fatherland."

According to Yulia Tymoshenko, domestic drug manufacturers are currently forced to sell 80% of their products to two corrupt intermediary structures embedded in the market.

As a result of the work led by Yulia Tymoshenko, a draft law will be presented to parliament that will dismantle corruption schemes and significantly lower drug prices in pharmacies.
