“In terms of quality, the Ukrainian army has improved, but the audit of the most well-known ground units, even in terms of drone systems, is still a process, it’s all about personnel, the old ways. This is not about some 45-year-olds. The old ways can now include a young hipster who enters the business system. A relative, a brother, a cousin, a degenerate in a position, with orders and medals, who understands nothing, yet considers himself brilliant in everything. Is this the old way? In my opinion, it is. They are copying this system,” says Yevhen Karas.
According to him, this is simply the order of the system; it’s not even about the old ways but rather about an ineffective and unbalanced system, and it’s necessary to assess the entire picture, all the units. On the other hand, the guest of the program notes that the army is not stagnant, experience is accumulating, and we now know many names of truly worthy generals and their work.
As for politics, the military notes, it is getting worse; its level is declining, many are gaining attention directly from the war, expressing unfounded criticism without understanding the material, and new figures are emerging who were unknown just yesterday.
“The level of politics is certainly declining. Politics is like a frog that is dangling. If the temperature doesn’t rise and the frog doesn’t try to swim out, then it’s being lazy. And who controls politics now? No one,” emphasizes Yevhen Karas.
