The Russian army attacked the Chernobyl nuclear power plant with a drone in the early hours of Friday, February 14. The shelter of the destroyed 4th reactor block at Chernobyl was damaged.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.
The published photos show a large hole in the roof of the shelter, as well as destruction inside.
"Regarding the drone strike at Chernobyl. This is further evidence that Russia poses a threat to the entire world. Putin's military deliberately attacked Chernobyl at night," Yermak captioned the photo.

"On the night of February 13-14, around 01:50, the IAEA team at the Chernobyl site heard an explosion from the New Safe Confinement, which protects the remains of reactor No. 4 of the former Chernobyl NPP, leading to a fire. They were informed that a UAV had crashed into the roof of the NSC," the statement said.

"The shelter at Chernobyl was damaged by this drone. The fire has been extinguished. Currently, the radiation level has not increased, and this is being monitored continuously. Preliminary assessments indicate that the damage to the shelter is significant," Zelensky wrote.
