Air defense shot down over a hundred drones: how many drones did Russia launch at Ukraine last night?

In the night of Tuesday, February 18, the Russian army launched 176 Shahed-type strike drones over the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces operated in 12 regions.

On the night of February 18, 2025, starting from 19:00 on February 17, the enemy attacked with 176 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of drone imitators.

They were launched from seven directions:

• Orel;
• Bryansk;
• Kursk;
• Millerovo;
• Shatalovo;
• Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
• occupied Crimea.

As of 09:00, the downing of 103 Shahed-type strike drones and other types of drones has been confirmed in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

Additionally, 67 enemy drone imitators were locally lost without negative consequences. The Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Cherkasy regions were affected as a result of the enemy attack.

Night Drone Attack

On the evening of Monday, February 17, air raid alerts were declared in many regions of Ukraine amid the threat of attacks from remote Russian drones. Air raid alerts were also issued in Kyiv, and it was later reported that air defense systems were active in Kyiv, particularly in the northern part of the city.

According to local authorities, debris from the enemy's UAV was recorded falling in the Svyatoshyn district of Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko informed that there was a fire at an industrial facility, as well as vehicles on fire in the yard of a nearby residential building. However, there were no casualties, as the debris fell in a non-residential area, and a fire was recorded in a warehouse.

Also, that night, in the city of Dolynska, Kirovohrad region, a Russian drone hit a high-rise building. As a result of the strike, three people were injured, including children.
