U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States has made "significant progress" in negotiations with Moscow and Kyiv over the past week. According to him, a peace agreement could be reached.
"I think we have made tremendous progress over the last week. We are dealing with the Russians. We are dealing with the Ukrainians. I think something will happen," he told Fox News.
In close cooperation with support, combat, and logistics units, paratroopers from the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully conducted offensive operations in one of the directions of Russia's Kursk region. As a result of a swift and unexpected maneuver for the enemy, Ukrainian fighters seized new positions and significantly improved their tactical situation.
At the Pokrovsk direction, the occupiers attempted to leverage their numerical superiority to break through Ukrainian defensive lines in the areas of the settlements: Baranivka, Vodyane Druhe, Myrolyubivka, Luch, Lysovka, Dachenke, Udachne, Uspenivka, Nadiivka, Andriivka, and Dachne.
"As a result of assault actions and fire impact, some of our positions were destroyed. Measures are being taken to prevent the deterioration of the tactical situation," the report states.
According to the Yonhap news agency, citing South Korea's Ministry of Defense, North Korea has sent approximately 200 units of long-range artillery to Russia and is likely to send more troops and weapons in support of Moscow's war against Ukraine.
The ministry also stated that North Korea is expected to double its efforts in weapon development this year, which will be the final year of a five-year plan for developing modern weaponry such as nuclear submarines, spy satellites, and solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missiles.
According to the National Police, two individuals "cut off" a bus with military personnel using a vehicle, posed as police officers, and threatened to use weapons inside the bus, taking two mobilized men with them.
They planned to stage the police arrest of the two mobilized men to ensure they would not arrive at their duty station. For this, the individuals received "compensation" of $5,000 for each of the two conscripts.
According to "Poltavaoblenergo," in the morning, due to a cyber incident, communication was lost with the dispatch service and 56 boiler houses. As a result, 14 of them stopped operating. Subsequently, the boiler houses began to be activated manually.
Currently, all boiler enterprises are providing services to consumers. Work is also ongoing to update the software and restore communication with the dispatch service. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
"We will exchange one territory for another," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, adding that he does not know which part of the occupied land Ukraine will ask for in return.
"I don't know, we'll see. But all our territories are important, there is no priority," he noted.
"I am sending Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to Ukraine to meet with President Zelensky," the U.S. President noted.
He added that the war must end and it will end soon.
"President Donald Trump and his special envoy Steve Witkoff may announce that Mr. Witkoff is leaving Russian airspace along with Mark Fogel, an American detained by Russia," said U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
According to him, this is a "demonstration of goodwill from the Russians" and a sign that "we are moving in the right direction to end the brutal and terrible war in Ukraine."
