Russia has targeted the energy infrastructure in the Lviv region.

On the morning of Wednesday, January 15, the Russian Federation launched a large-scale missile strike on the territory of Ukraine. The energy infrastructure in the Lviv region was targeted.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi in Telegram.

"During the morning attack, enemy cruise missiles were recorded over the region. As of now, they no longer pose a threat," wrote Sadovyi.

According to him, the enemy targeted the energy infrastructure of the region and Ukraine. Sadovyi noted that emergency power outages have been implemented in several areas, but Lviv is not currently on that list.

The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported that the Russian Federation struck the region with cruise missiles and a drone.

During the first air alert, which lasted from 01:35 to 02:48, an enemy strike drone entered the Lviv region and was neutralized by air defense forces. There were no casualties, injuries, or destruction.

During the subsequent morning alert, which lasted from 06:12 to 08:12, the enemy attacked the Lviv region with cruise missiles.

"There are hits on two critical infrastructure facilities in the Drohobych and Stryi districts. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but there is damage," wrote Kozytskyi.

The life support systems in the region are functioning normally, and no power outages have been introduced yet.

Later, Kozytskyi clarified that due to a missile falling in the village of Sknyliv in the Zolochiv district, a residential building and an outbuilding were damaged. There are no casualties or injuries.

However, a crater approximately 6 by 5 meters in diameter and about 2.5 meters deep formed next to the house.

Russia's Attack on Ukraine on January 15

This morning, Russia again launched a massive shelling on Ukraine. Initially, the Russian army deployed drones over Ukrainian territory, and during the night it became known that Russia had launched Tu-95MS bombers from the Olenya airfield.

Russia also attacked Kharkiv with ballistic missiles. Later, explosions were heard in the Cherkasy region. In response, Poland raised combat aviation.

Additionally, emergency power outages were implemented in several regions.
