During a search of the home of two minors featured in scandalous videos displaying provocative behavior in the center of Kyiv, weapons, ammunition, and a paintball grenade were seized. This was reported by Kyiv police.
"As part of a criminal case initiated under part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, investigators from the capital's police conducted searches at the homes of two minors, resulting in the seizure of weapons, ammunition, a paintball grenade, a brass knuckle, a knife, as well as computer equipment and mobile phones," the statement said.
The police reminded that at the end of this week, a series of publications about the provocative behavior of a group of minors in central Kyiv were circulated on social media, who, in particular, listened to Russian music, displayed weapons, and engaged in a number of other actions to create provocative content.
It was stated that the "bloggers" turned out to be six residents of the capital aged between 14 and 17. Law enforcement invited the young men along with their parents to the police station, where they provided explanations regarding the mentioned events.
The police noted that a pre-trial investigation is ongoing regarding this matter.
Scandal in the center of Kyiv - what is known
As reported by UNIAN, a video circulated online showing a group of young people allegedly blocking traffic on the streets of Kyiv for their own amusement, as well as listening to Russian music. It was reported that a group of young people in luxury cars created chaos in the center of Kyiv, particularly passing by the memorial to fallen defenders in the center of the capital, they played the song "I Am Russian."
Their antics were posted on social media, where one participant claimed that "all problems will be solved by 'gifts' from their parents." Additionally, one of the videos shows that they were allegedly accompanied. Kyiv police responded to this information and reported that they are already identifying the individuals featured in the videos.
They were located, and juvenile police officers spoke with them and their parents.
The police noted that one of the participants had previously appeared in similar videos using Russian music. He was held accountable under article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the court decided to impose a penalty in the form of probation supervision for one year.
After the investigation is completed, legal assessments will be given to the actions of each of the six individuals involved.
