On January 19, an explosion occurred at a radio studio in Kiev. A woman born in 1999 was injured and has been hospitalized, reports the Kiev police on Telegram.

According to law enforcement officials, information about the emergency incident was received in the evening at the Pechersk police department. An investigative team and bomb experts were dispatched to the scene.

"Preliminary findings indicate that an army detonator exploded, which was on display in the premises. As a result of the explosion, a woman born in 1999 was injured and has been hospitalized," the police stated.

The police clarified that a criminal case has been initiated under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives. All circumstances of the incident are being investigated, the police added.

Volunteer Miroslav Hai revealed some details of the incident on Facebook. According to him, the explosion occurred around 10:50 at the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The radio host of the 'Army FM' channel picked up a bottom detonator 'VP-9' during the broadcast - an explosion occurred," he explained.

He noted that as a result of the explosion, the host sustained shrapnel wounds, and her condition is stable. Hai added that the detonator had been brought into the studio as a model.

As previously reported by UNIAN, on January 18, a tourist tragically died at the Dragobrat ski resort. The girl was skiing and lost her balance on the T-bar lift.

After losing her balance, she fell down and collided with a sharp part of a protective fence. The circumstances of the tragedy are under investigation.
